Dear Swampscott voter,
Hi there đź‘‹ I’m Keiko Zoll.
I’m a proud public school parent, full-time working mom, and Town Meeting member since 2019. I’m proud to call Swampscott home since 2018.
As a progressive advocate who believes in the power of public education, I’m running for School Committee because I have a simple vision for our public schools, where:
- Every student receives an equitable education;
- Every family is supported; and
- Every educator has the resources they need to help our children thrive.
I believe our students, families, educators, and administrators can—and must—all work together as a team for the benefit of our children’s education.Â
I’ve gone to public schools my entire life, from kindergarten until I earned my B.A. in Communication Studies from The College of New Jersey in 2004. For the first half of my career, I worked in student affairs in higher education from 2004 to 2011. For more than a decade, my career has centered on children and families, from my time as a parenting writer and editor to my work in the nonprofit education space since 2019.
(Want to know more about me and my work? Here you go.)
Advocating for children and families in my career has become a natural extension of the volunteer advocacy work I did during several years as I struggled with infertility: because even then, it was important to me to fight for the rights of all families — despite not knowing whether I’d ever get to have a family of my own. Following the murder of George Floyd on my 38th birthday, my work has become acutely focused on racial and social justice. Diversity, equity, and inclusion are not merely buzzwords: they are core values central to my personal identity and professional vision.
I’d be honored to serve our community: as a leader who centers equity in her decision making, as an advocate for families and students, and as an partner to our educators and schools.
If you’re all for #Keiko4Swampscott, I’d be honored to have your vote on Tuesday, April 23rd.
See you at the polls,
